Hindustan Adhesives Ltd reported its Q1 FY26 results on August 14, 2025. Revenue from operations rose modestly to Rs. 6,639 lakhs from Rs. 6,406 lakhs in Q1 FY25, a growth of about 3.6%. However, profit after tax jumped sharply to Rs. 375 lakhs from Rs. 213 lakhs, up roughly 76% year-on-year, with EPS climbing to Rs. 7.33 from Rs. 4.16. The profit boost was driven by lower other expenses and inventory changes, though finance costs rose about 59% to Rs. 189 lakhs. The auditor (Salarpuria & Partners) issued a clean limited review report with no qualifications. During the quarter, the company increased its stake in Indonesian subsidiary PT. Bagla Group Indonesia from 51% to 100% by buying out Bagla Polfilms Ltd's 49% holding, although neither subsidiary has begun commercial production yet.
Strong profit growth on flat revenue suggests margin expansion and improved cost efficiency, which is positive for shareholders. However, the sharp rise in finance costs and the fact that subsidiaries are still pre-production warrant monitoring. The 100% consolidation of PT. Bagla Group Indonesia will affect future reported numbers once operations commence.
