Hindustan Oil Exploration Company (HOEC) has announced a top management change following board meetings on January 23 and February 25, 2026. Mr. Ramasamy Jeevanandam has resigned as Managing Director effective March 31, 2026, citing health issues and personal reasons after about 11 years at the company (including 2 years as MD). Mr. Baroruchi Mishra, aged 58, with over 35 years of experience in Oil & Gas and New Energies, has been appointed as the new Managing Director & CEO for a 3-year term starting April 1, 2026, subject to shareholder approval. Separately, Dr. Jagadip Narayan Singh, a retired IAS officer and former Chief Secretary of Gujarat, was appointed as Non-Executive Independent Director & Chairman for a 5-year term from January 23, 2026.
A planned, orderly leadership transition with a domain-experienced successor in the MD & CEO role and a senior bureaucrat as Chairman should reassure shareholders. Shareholder approval for the new MD's appointment is pending and will be a near-term watchpoint.
