The disruption stems from a Government of India directive requiring all public sector oil companies to supply LPG exclusively to domestic consumers, which has prompted BPCL — HOCL's bulk LPG supplier — to declare a force majeure event. As a result, the Phenol and Cumene plant production load has already been reduced, the PRU unit has been shut down on 09.03.2026, and all other downstream units will shut down within two days. The Hydrogen Peroxide plant will continue operating normally. HOCL has warned of production losses and additional plant restart-related expenditure.
