Hindustan Unilever has announced a planned change at its top finance role. Current Executive Director, Finance & CFO Ritesh Tiwari will step down effective October 31, 2025, to take up a global role as Head of M&A and Treasury at parent Unilever PLC, based in London. Niranjan Gupta, currently CEO of Hero MotoCorp and a former 20-year HUL veteran, will join as CFO-Designate from September 1, 2025, and formally take over as Executive Director, Finance & CFO from November 1, 2025 for a 5-year term, subject to shareholder approval. He will report to MD & CEO Priya Nair. Gupta brings prior CFO and CEO experience from Hero MotoCorp and finance leadership from Vedanta.
A well-ordered, internally groomed transition with a 2-month overlap — outgoing CFO elevated within the Unilever group, incoming CFO is a seasoned HUL alumnus. Generally a positive/neutral signal for shareholders, though transition execution in the near term will be watched.
