India Glycols has issued tax guidance following its NCLT-sanctioned demerger (effective Sept 1, 2026). Under the scheme, shareholders get 1 share of Ennature Bio Pharma for every 3 IGL shares held, and 1 share of IGL Spirits for every 1 IGL share held. Original cost of acquisition should be apportioned as 31.77% to IGL, 20.61% to Ennature Bio Pharma, and 47.62% to IGL Spirits. Bio Pharma and Spirits and Biofuel businesses have been demerged into separate entities.
Shareholders now hold shares in three entities; use these percentages to calculate capital gains on future sale of any of these shares.
