Indian Bank reported Q4 FY26 net profit of Rs 3,103 crore with full year profit of Rs 12,156 crore, up 11.33%. Total business grew 12.79% with advances at 13.43% and deposits at 12.29%. CASA ratio stands at 39.67% (target 40%). Gross NPA improved significantly from 3.09% to 1.98%, down 111 bps. ROE is strong at 19.53% and provision coverage ratio maintained at 98.28%. Jewel loan grew 28% to Rs 1.27 lakh crore. For FY27, management guided deposit growth of 9-11%, advances growth of 11-13%, NIM at 3.10%-3.25% (with margin pressure expected due to elevated cost of deposits), ROA at 1.20%-1.30%, and gross NPA at 1.50%-1.60%. Recovery guidance set at Rs 4,500-5,500 crore. The bank has an unavailed pipeline of Rs 34,000-35,000 crore and unavailed sanctions of Rs 51,000 crore. New ECL guidelines will have impact but management expects to absorb within 1-3 quarters.
Strong asset quality improvement and profitability maintained, but NIM guidance signals margin pressure ahead. Recovery outlook is muted due to declining NPAs. Management prioritizes quality over aggressive growth, which may limit upside despite strong operational metrics.
