Indian Toners & Developers Ltd has informed BSE that the Ministry of Finance has extended the anti-dumping duty on imports of 'Black Toner in Powder Form' originating from China, Malaysia, and Taiwan for a further period of five years, from August 11, 2025 to August 10, 2030. The extension was issued via Notification No. 26/2025-Customs(ADD) on August 4, 2025, following a sunset review investigation by the Directorate General of Trade Remedies (DGTR), which concluded that removing the duty would lead to a recurrence of dumping and injury to the domestic industry. The duty rates remain unchanged, ranging from US$159 per metric tonne to US$1,568 per metric tonne depending on the country of origin and producer. The company has stated that this move will make imported black toner costlier, helping it compete more effectively against cheaper imports from these countries.
This is a positive development for Indian Toners as it provides regulatory protection from low-cost imports for the next five years, likely supporting its pricing power and market position in the domestic black toner segment. Investors may view this as a stable, favourable operating environment, though the stock impact depends on the size of the company's domestic business relative to imports.
