Indigo Paints has started commercial production at its new 12,000 KLPA solvent-based paint plant in Jodhpur, Rajasthan in February 2026. A much larger 90,000 KLPA water-based paint plant is expected to be operational by June 2026. The company is also doubling its powder-based paint capacity from 1,38,000 MTPA to 2,76,000 MTPA, with the additional 1,38,000 MTPA coming online in February 2026 at an investment of about Rs 15 crore, funded through internal accruals. The existing powder plant is running at around 77% utilisation. The company says these expansions are to meet projected future demand and strengthen its market position.
This is a positive capacity expansion update that signals management's confidence in future demand growth. Near-term margin impact should be minimal since the expansion is funded internally, but the water-based plant coming online by June 2026 will be the key catalyst to watch for incremental revenue potential.
