IndoStar Capital Finance reported FY2026 standalone PAT of Rs. 13,020 lakhs, more than doubling from Rs. 5,259 lakhs in FY2025, driven by an exceptional gain of Rs. 1,17,595 lakhs from the sale of its subsidiary Niwas Housing Finance Limited (NHFL) completed in July 2025. Total income marginally declined to Rs. 1,39,359 lakhs from Rs. 1,41,241 lakhs. Q4 FY2026 saw a loss of Rs. 42,396 lakhs due to Rs. 32,613 lakhs additional provisioning against security receipts and Rs. 4,900 lakhs management overlay for West Asia crisis uncertainties. Gross NPAs stood at 4.77% (vs 4.52%) and net NPAs improved to 2.09% (vs 2.46%). Provision coverage on NPAs increased significantly to 57.40% from 46.65%. Statutory auditors issued unmodified (clean) opinions on both standalone and consolidated results. The company disclosed related party transactions for the half-year.
Despite the strong PAT growth aided by the NHFL divestment, the significant Q4 provisions and negative operating cash flow of Rs. 98,909 lakhs may concern investors. The increased provisioning and asset quality metrics warrant monitoring. The clean auditor opinion provides some comfort.
