Intimation of Capacity Addition

GE Vernova T&D India has approved a fresh capacity addition of around ₹140 crore (USD 16 million), fully funded through internal accruals. The investment will set up new manufacturing capabilities for HVDC Line Commutated Converter Valves, Voltage Source Converter Valves and STATCOM equipment at Pallavaram (Chennai), along with a testing and supply platform for HVDC Controls at Noida. Notably, the company's existing capacity in India for these products is currently NIL, making this a greenfield project rather than an expansion of existing lines. The new facilities are targeted to be operational by early 2027. Management cited growing demand for grid stability and renewable energy integration solutions in India and export markets as the key rationale.
Positive medium-term signal — demonstrates management's confidence in rising demand for HVDC and grid-stability products, but capacity benefits will only flow from 2027 onwards, so near-term earnings impact is limited.
