ION Exchange has signed a Technology Transfer Agreement with German filtration major MANN + HUMMEL to manufacture PVDF Ultrafiltration (UF) membranes and Integrated Membrane Bioreactor (MBR) systems at its Goa facility. MANN + HUMMEL will transfer technical know-how including manufacturing processes and best practices. Ion Exchange will pay a technology transfer fee of 7.5% on revenue generated from manufactured products. The collaboration aims to strengthen Ion Exchange's HYDRAMEM® portfolio by offering an integrated range of membrane technologies including UF, RO, and MBR systems. The company states this will reduce import dependence, improve supply reliability, and enable faster delivery to customers. The agreement is in ordinary course of business and is not a related party transaction.
This strategic tie-up with a global filtration leader enhances ION Exchange's technology capabilities and manufacturing scale, potentially strengthening its competitive position in the water treatment membrane market. The 7.5% revenue-based fee structure keeps costs aligned with commercial success.
