Jindal Poly Films submitted its Q1 FY26 results. On a standalone basis, revenue from operations rose ~26% YoY to Rs. 16,980.63 lakhs (from Rs. 13,432.55 lakhs), driven by the non-woven fabrics business. However, net profit fell to Rs. 9,260.08 lakhs (from Rs. 19,698.70 lakhs in Q1 FY25, which was boosted by a Rs. 13,650.88 lakh one-time exceptional gain). Standalone results also include a Rs. 2,684.83 lakh foreign exchange loss on foreign-currency loans. On a consolidated basis, revenue declined ~12% YoY to Rs. 1,08,340.69 lakhs and net profit dropped sharply to Rs. 3,650.61 lakhs (from Rs. 16,808.69 lakhs), hurt by sharply higher finance costs (Rs. 5,215.86 lakhs vs Rs. 2,744.75 lakhs) and a Rs. 4,847.26 lakh FX loss. The company also acquired a 48.84% stake in Enerlite Solar Films India, making it a subsidiary.
Mixed signals for shareholders: standalone non-woven fabrics are growing strongly, but the consolidated picture is weaker with rising finance costs, FX losses, and a fire at a Nashik subsidiary plant (loss assessment pending) that has prevented the auditor from issuing a conclusion on consolidated results. Short-term sentiment may be cautious due to the auditor's disclaimer and profit decline; long-term depends on recovery in the packaging films business and resolution of the Nashik fire losses.
