Jindal Stainless subsidiary Chromeni Steels (CSL) acquired a 40% equity stake in Oyster Green Hybrid Four, an SPV formed with Oyster Renewable Energy for a 24 MW wind-solar hybrid captive power project. The project will supply about 70 million units annually for CSL plant power needs. CSL will invest up to Rs 12.50 crore in total, with Rs 1.25 crore in the current tranche. Commissioning targeted for Q1 FY2027-28. Deal is at arm's length and aligns with the company's net-zero by 2050 commitment.
Supports captive renewable power for subsidiary operations, aiding long-term cost efficiency and sustainability goals; financial outlay remains modest in the near term.
