Jindal Steel has commissioned the Bhagavati Subhadrika Blast Furnace-II, a 5 MTPA unit at its Angul, Odisha integrated steel plant. The new furnace has 5,499 m² useful volume and ranks among the world's largest and most advanced. With this addition, hot metal capacity at Angul has doubled from 4 MTPA to 9 MTPA, making Angul India's largest single-location steel facility. The company remains on track to reach 12 MTPA overall capacity. Future plans include a dedicated port at Paradeep, slurry pipeline, coal pipe conveyor, the Shreebhoomi Power Plant, and new coke oven facilities.
This is a significant capacity expansion that strengthens Jindal Steel's market position and supports future revenue growth. Investors should note the company is on track with its expansion roadmap, though actual financial impact will depend on steel demand and pricing in the coming quarters.
