JK Lakshmi Cement has been declared the H1 (highest) bidder by Assam Mineral Development Corporation Ltd. (AMDCL), a state government entity, for a major integrated project in Assam. The scope covers drilling, excavation, transportation, and supply of limestone from 630 hectares (430 Ha + 200 Ha) at the New Umrangso Limestone Mines, along with setting up a new (greenfield) cement and value-added products manufacturing plant. The Letter of Intent was received on 5th July 2025 with a 30-day validity. To finalise, the company must furnish a performance bank guarantee and deposit an upfront amount with AMDCL, after which it will be formally designated as the Mine Developer & Operator (MDO) and Successful Bidder. The contract is subject to signing of a formal Contract Agreement and satisfactory completion of all conditions.
Positive for shareholders — securing this contract gives JK Lakshmi Cement a captive limestone source and a new cement manufacturing base in the Northeast, supporting long-term volume growth. However, the deal is not yet finalised and is contingent on fulfilling performance security and contractual conditions, so execution risk remains.
