On the reaction day the stock moved 1.5 pts more than Nifty Midcap 150 and 1.0 pts more than its Power Generation peers, over the same two closes: a difference in percentage points, not a measure of what the filing did.
Minute windows have no benchmark: there is no intraday index history to compare against.
JSW Energy's board approved a scheme to transfer GE Power India's Durgapur plant business, which makes boiler parts, pressure vessels, piping and coal mills for thermal power plants, to JSW Energy. JSW will issue 10 fully paid shares of INR 10 each for every 139 GE Power India shares of INR 10 each. The deal aims to improve supply control and reduce reliance on outside suppliers. It remains subject to regulatory and stock exchange approvals.
The deal could improve supply control, costs and scale, but new JSW shares may dilute existing holders and completion remains conditional on approvals.
