JSW Energy has commissioned 281 MW of new renewable energy capacity (215 MW solar + 66 MW wind), taking its total installed capacity to 12,499 MW. With this addition, renewables now make up 55% of the company's overall capacity mix (wind 3,482 MW, solar 1,968 MW, hydro 1,391 MW). Separately, its step-down subsidiary JSW Renew Energy Three has signed a 25-year Power Purchase Agreement with Adani Electricity Mumbai for 250 MW of wind capacity in Maharashtra at a tariff of ₹3.65 per kWh, expected to be commissioned within 24 months. The company reiterated its Strategy 3.0 roadmap targeting 30 GW of generation capacity and 40 GWh of energy storage by FY 2030, with carbon neutrality targeted by 2050.
Both the capacity addition and the long-term PPA strengthen JSW Energy's earnings visibility and renewable energy portfolio. The 25-year PPA at a fixed tariff provides stable cash flows, and the rising share of renewables (now 55%) positions the company to benefit from India's clean energy transition, likely to be viewed positively by investors.
