JSW Energy's step-down subsidiary, JSW Renew Energy Forty Five Limited, has signed a 25-year Power Purchase Agreement with Bangalore Electricity Supply Company (BESCOM), a Karnataka government-owned power distributor, for a 100 MW grid-connected solar project paired with a 100 MWh Battery Energy Storage System. The project will be set up in Kalaburagi district and connected to the KPTCL Firozabad substation, at a fixed tariff of ₹4.31 per kWh. With this addition, JSW Energy's total locked-in energy storage capacity rises to 29.4 GWh (3.0 GWh BESS + 26.4 GWh pumped hydro), keeping it on track for its 40 GWh storage target by 2030. The deal supports the company's larger goal of reaching 30 GW of total generation capacity by 2030.
The agreement locks in long-term, government-backed revenue at a competitive tariff and reinforces JSW Energy's renewable plus storage growth story. Positive for shareholders as it adds visibility to earnings and brings the company closer to its 2030 storage and capacity targets.
