JSW Energy's subsidiary, JSW Thermal Energy Two, signed a Power Purchase Agreement with West Bengal DISCOM for a 1,600 MW (2x800 MW) super or ultra-super critical thermal power plant in Salboni. This is the second PPA with WBSEDCL after a similar one in March 2025, taking Salboni's total capacity to 3,200 MW. The plant uses domestic coal under SHAKTI policy and must be commissioned within 6 years. JSW Energy's total thermal capacity is expected to reach 10,658 MW, with locked-in generation of 32.1 GW.
Major capacity addition boosts long-term revenue visibility. Salboni becomes largest single-location asset at 3,200 MW. Positive for growth outlook.
