Jubilant FoodWorks (JFL) has decided not to renew its Multiple Unit Development Franchise Agreement (MUDFA) for the Dunkin' brand in India, originally signed in February 2011, when the current term ends on December 31, 2026. The company will, in an orderly phased manner, rationalise or shut down Dunkin' operations and may sell, transfer, or assign franchise rights and assets in consultation with the brand owner. Dunkin' contributed only 0.61% of JFL's total revenue (around INR 372 crore vs total revenue of INR 61,047 crore) in FY25 and posted a loss of about INR 191 crore after tax. JFL has stated that this decision will not have any material operational or financial impact on the company.
Likely a mild positive for shareholders, as Dunkin' was a small, loss-making drag on JFL's portfolio. Exiting the brand should free up management bandwidth and capital to focus on the core Domino's Pizza business, with no meaningful hit to overall revenue or profitability.
