Massive Flood Damages Two Tea Estates; Production Halted at Bamonpookrie

Heavy flooding from a cloudburst and incessant rainfall in neighbouring Nagaland has severely damaged Bamonpookrie Tea Estate, affecting labour quarters, staff quarters, factory and other critical infrastructure. Plantation areas and labour quarters at Mackeypore Tea Estate are also affected. Production is currently halted at the Bamonpookrie factory pending water recede and damage assessment. Plucking of green tea leaves at Mackeypore will resume the next day. Property, finished goods stock and stores and spares are insured subject to deductibles and policy limits.
