Karur Vysya Bank has allotted 16.10 crore bonus equity shares of face value Rs. 2 each to its shareholders. The bonus issue was in the ratio of 1:5, meaning 1 free share for every 5 shares held. The shareholders had approved the bonus at the AGM held on August 21, 2025, with the record date set as August 26, 2025. The Board formally allotted the shares on August 28, 2025. Following the allotment, the bank's paid-up equity share capital has risen from Rs. 161.07 crore (80.53 crore shares) to Rs. 193.27 crore (96.64 crore shares).
Shareholders receive additional shares at no cost, increasing their total holding by 20%. The bonus will boost share liquidity and may lead to a proportional adjustment in the share price, but does not change the overall value of the investment.
