Key Corp Limited, a Kanpur-based NBFC, reported a strong Q3 FY26 turnaround with profit after tax of Rs 158.59 lakhs, recovering from losses of Rs 255.02 lakhs in Q2 FY26 and Rs 395.88 lakhs in Q3 FY25. The swing was driven by net gain on fair value changes turning positive at Rs 168.83 lakhs this quarter versus heavy negative fair value losses in prior quarters. However, for the nine-month period, total income fell about 31% to Rs 749.46 lakhs from Rs 1,091.38 lakhs a year ago, and PAT declined to Rs 690.78 lakhs from Rs 1,028.10 lakhs. The statutory auditor V.P. Aditya & Co. issued a clean (unqualified) limited review report with no qualifications.
Short-term quarter results look encouraging as the company returned to profit after two consecutive loss-making quarters, but the nine-month trend shows meaningful revenue and earnings decline versus last year. Shareholders should note that profits are heavily dependent on volatile fair value changes rather than stable interest or fee income, which remains small.
