On the reaction day the stock moved 0.2 pts more than Nifty Microcap 250 and 1.5 pts less than its Petrochemicals peers, over the same two closes: a difference in percentage points, not a measure of what the filing did.

NCLT Chennai has ordered Kothari Petrochemicals (KPL) and Kothari Sugars and Chemicals (KSCL) to hold meetings of equity shareholders and unsecured creditors on November 13, 2026, to approve the proposed amalgamation of KSCL into KPL under Sections 230-232 of the Companies Act. Indian Bank, the secured creditor, has already given consent, so the secured creditor meeting is dispensed. The scheme still needs further regulatory and statutory approvals before it can take effect.
Shareholders of both companies will vote on the amalgamation on November 13, 2026. If approved, KSCL will merge into KPL, simplifying the group structure.
