Kovalam Investment and Trading Company (a Ludhiana-based NBFC, Scrip Code 505585) submitted its un-audited financial results for Q3 FY26 and the nine months ended December 31, 2025, after approval by the Board on February 12, 2026. The results were reviewed by the Audit Committee and subjected to a limited review by statutory auditors M/s YAPL & Co., who issued an unmodified (clean) limited review report. Profit after tax for the quarter ended 31.12.2025 stood at approximately Rs. 222.39 lakhs, a sharp swing from losses reported in the corresponding year-ago period, with basic EPS of Rs. 7.40. Importantly, Note 7 to the results discloses that the company sold investments to a related party at Rs. 21.92 lakhs, against their purchase cost of Rs. 45 lakhs, crystallising a loss of about Rs. 23 lakhs on the transaction.
The headline PAT turnaround from losses to ~Rs. 222 lakhs looks positive on the surface, but shareholders should note the related-party sale of investments at a steep discount to cost (~Rs. 23 lakh loss), which raises governance concerns and may attract scrutiny. Net effect: mixed – operational profit rebound is real but diluted by questionable related-party dealing.
