The Board approved adding 0.7 MW solar capacity at Puducherry, taking total capacity from 5 MW to 5.7 MW. The project requires an estimated Rs. 4.25 crore to Rs. 4.50 crore and is targeted for completion by March 31, 2027, subject to approvals. R. Nandagopal was also appointed CEO of the Foods division for one year.
The solar expansion may reduce power costs at the Puducherry Foods unit, but requires new capital spending and regulatory approvals.
