On the reaction day the stock moved 0.3 pts more than Nifty 100 and 0.8 pts less than its Civil Construction peers, over the same two closes: a difference in percentage points, not a measure of what the filing did.
Minute windows have no benchmark: there is no intraday index history to compare against.
L&T's transportation business won a contract from National High Speed Rail Corporation to design, supply, build, test and commission 156 route km of high-speed track for the Mumbai-Ahmedabad corridor. It covers 21 km of underground sections and 135 km on elevated viaducts. The large classification indicates ₹2,500 crore to ₹5,000 crore, but no exact value was disclosed. This is L&T's second track package for the corridor, taking its share above 50%.
The order strengthens L&T's workload and future revenue visibility and reinforces its position in high-speed rail. Execution and timing remain the main risks.
