L&T's Water & Effluent Treatment (WET) business has won a 'Significant' order from the Guwahati Metropolitan Drinking Water & Sewerage Board in Assam. The order is for a 24x7 water management project covering South-East Guwahati, including design, construction, commissioning of intake systems, water treatment plant, reservoirs, pumping stations, and distribution network, plus SCADA systems and 5 years of operation & maintenance. Per L&T's classification, a 'Significant' order is valued between Rs 1,000 crore and Rs 2,500 crore. The project strengthens L&T's footprint in the northeast region.
This is a domestic, government-backed infra order in L&T's core EPC segment, adding to its order book and reinforcing its water business presence in the northeast. For a ~USD 30 billion revenue company, the order size is meaningful but not transformative, and is likely already reflected in street expectations.
