L&T has secured an Ultra-Mega contract (valued above ₹15,000 crore as per its own classification) from Adani Power to set up eight 800 MW thermal power units, totalling 6,400 MW of new generation capacity. The scope covers full design, engineering, manufacturing, supply and commissioning of Boiler-Turbine-Generator packages along with auxiliaries and control systems. The work will be executed by L&T Energy – CarbonLite Solutions (LTECLS), its specialised power vertical. Adani Power is India's largest private thermal power producer with over 18,000 MW installed capacity, and this adds to a long-standing partnership between the two groups. The order strengthens L&T's order book in the energy segment and reinforces its position as a key EPC player in India's thermal power build-out.
