Laurus Labs Board has approved an investment of up to INR equivalent of Euro 9.8 million in KRKA Pharma Private Limited, its existing joint venture. The co-venturer, KRKA d.d. from Slovenia, will also invest approximately Euro 10.2 million in the same entity. The existing 51:49 shareholding ratio between the Slovenian partner and Laurus Labs will remain unchanged after this investment. KRKA was incorporated in April 2024 and is yet to commence full business operations, though it currently provides R&D services. The funds will be used by KRKA to set up a manufacturing facility as part of its capex plan. The transaction qualifies as a related party transaction and is being done at arm's length basis.
This investment strengthens Laurus Labs' position in its pharmaceutical joint venture and supports capacity expansion. Shareholders can expect the company to benefit from future manufacturing capabilities while maintaining equal ownership stakes with its Slovenian partner.
