Lloyds Engineering Works Limited (LEWL) has been selected as a consortium partner, along with Primetals Technologies (India and Austria), for the design and execution of a 4.2 MTPA Pellet Plant Complex at SAIL's IISCO Steel Plant in Burnpur, West Bengal. The total consortium contract is valued at approximately ₹613 crore (Indian portion) plus €18.26 million (Euro portion). LEWL's role covers detailed design and engineering plus supply of some critical process equipment. The project is to be completed within 39 months from the contract's effective date. The order has been awarded by SAIL, a Government of India Maharatna public sector undertaking.
This is a sizeable domestic PSU order that strengthens LEWL's order book in the heavy engineering and steel sector and validates its consortium-led execution model. For shareholders, it signals revenue visibility over the next ~3 years and reinforces LEWL's positioning in India's core industrial capex cycle, which could be a positive sentiment trigger for the stock.
