Lupin and its US subsidiary have settled a patent infringement dispute with Astellas over the Mirabegron product. Under the agreement, Lupin will pay Astellas USD 90 million (including a USD 75 million prepaid option payment) plus a prepaid per-unit license fee on Mirabegron sales through September 2027. Other settlement terms remain confidential. This resolves the pending litigation, first flagged in April 2025, and allows Lupin to continue selling its Mirabegron product.
Removes litigation overhang on Mirabegron sales. One-time USD 90 million payout plus ongoing per-unit fees may pressure margins in the near term.
