Madhya Bharat Agro Products Limited has secured long-term green ammonia supply through two successful bids at the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) green ammonia auction. Oriana Power Limited won a bid at Rs. 52.25 per kg to supply 60,000 metric tonnes per annum for the company's Sagar (Madhya Pradesh) plant. A consortium of SCC Infrastructure and InSolare Energy won a bid at Rs. 53.05 per kg to supply 70,000 metric tonnes per annum for the Dhule (Maharashtra) plant. Together, this locks in 1,30,000 metric tonnes per annum of green ammonia — a critical raw material for NPK fertilizer manufacturing — on a long-term basis. The company highlighted support from the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) and the Department of Fertilizers (DoF).
Positive for shareholders — securing a long-term, fixed-price supply of a key raw material (ammonia) reduces input cost uncertainty and supports stable fertilizer production. The move toward green ammonia also aligns the company with sustainability goals, which could improve its standing with ESG-focused investors.
