Mahindra's subsidiary Mahindra Last Mile Mobility Limited (MLMML) launched a new electric three-wheeler auto-rickshaw called the Mahindra UDO on 12th February 2026, priced at ₹3,84,299 ex-showroom (introductory offer of ₹3,58,999 for a limited period). The L5M category e-auto features an airplane-inspired design, full monocoque construction, a 200 km real-world range, 55 km/h top speed in Race mode, and segment-first features like reverse throttle and creep mode. It is manufactured at Mahindra's Zaheerabad plant in Telangana, which has an existing capacity of 160K units across two shifts and current utilization of 90K. MLMML has invested ₹218 crore in advanced manufacturing facilities for the UDO, funded through internal accruals.
This launch strengthens Mahindra's dominance in India's electric last-mile mobility segment and could drive volume growth for MLMML, positively impacting the parent company's EV business. With capacity utilization at only about 56% (90K of 160K), there is room for scaling up without major near-term capex beyond the ₹218 crore already committed.
