Mahindra & Mahindra has signed a Share Purchase Agreement to sell its entire stake in Sampo Rosenlew Oy (SAMPO), a Finnish wholly-owned subsidiary, to Turkey-based Tera Yatirim Teknoloji Holding (TERA) for EUR 5 million (approximately Rs. 52 crores). The deal is expected to complete by 6 October 2025, after which SAMPO will cease to be M&M's subsidiary. SAMPO manufactures combine harvesters and forestry machines in Pori, Finland, and reported FY25 revenue of Rs. 370.98 crores, contributing only 0.23% of M&M's consolidated turnover. The company says this move is part of portfolio optimization to focus resources on opportunities that best position it for long-term success. Buyer TERA is not related to M&M's promoter group, and the transaction is not a related-party deal.
This is a small, non-core divestiture — SAMPO accounts for under 0.25% of consolidated revenue and net worth — so the financial impact on shareholders is negligible. The move signals M&M's intent to sharpen focus on its core automotive and farm equipment businesses rather than driving any meaningful stock price reaction.
