Board approved additional investment of up to EUR 45 million in wholly owned Mankind Pharma Netherlands, raising total investment limit there to EUR 50 million. Mankind Netherlands will invest EUR 48 million to acquire 70 percent stake in Belgium-based Armed Cell Therapeutics (ACTx), a biotech developing next-generation CAR-T cell therapies for cancers including non-Hodgkin lymphoma and small cell lung cancer. Deal is cash funded. Funds part of Mankind's long-term plan to build a global innovation-led pharma business and bring advanced therapies to India and worldwide.
Entry into cutting-edge CAR-T cancer therapy through a majority buy supports long-term global growth ambitions. Execution and regulatory risks remain.
