Marsons Limited has received vendor approval from Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL), India's apex power transmission body, for supply of power transformers. With this approval, Marsons becomes the only PGCIL-approved Extra High Voltage (EHV) transformer manufacturer across Eastern India and ten neighboring states including West Bengal, Odisha, Jharkhand, Bihar, and several north eastern states. PGCIL approval is described as one of the most rigorous qualification processes for transformer manufacturers in India, covering manufacturing infrastructure, quality systems, and technical capability. The company, with over 65 years of heritage and a 45,000 sq.m. facility with 12,000 MVA annual capacity, is well-positioned to benefit from the ongoing national transmission expansion drive targeting the eastern and north eastern corridors. The approval also enhances Marsons' competitive standing with state utilities across India.
This approval is a significant positive development as it grants Marsons exclusive access to a large and strategically important geographic market for government power transmission projects. Being the only PGCIL-approved EHV manufacturer in the eastern region positions the company as a primary beneficiary of India's planned transmission infrastructure expansion in that area.
