Matrimony.com board has approved a buyback of 8,93,129 equity shares at Rs 655 per share, for up to Rs 58.5 Crores total, through the tender offer route. This works out to about 4.14 percent of total equity capital. Promoters have opted not to participate in the buyback. The proposal is subject to shareholder approval via postal ballot. The board also reappointed founder Murugavel Janakiraman as Managing Director for three years from April 2026 and Sivaramakrishnan Meenakshi Sundaram as Independent Director for five years.
Buyback returns up to Rs 58.5 Cr to shareholders and may support the share price. Needs shareholder approval. Promoters opting out is a watch point.
