On the reaction day the stock moved 6.7 pts less than Nifty 100 and 8.2 pts less than its Industrial Manufacturing peers, over the same two closes: a difference in percentage points, not a measure of what the filing did.
Minute windows have no benchmark: there is no intraday index history to compare against.
On 27 October 2026, MDL's board approved an additional Rs 1,250 crore facility with State Bank of India, Mumbai, to issue a standby letter of credit to State Bank of India, Sri Lanka. This supports bank guarantees for Colombo Dockyard PLC's shipbuilding contracts. MDL bears issuance charges and costs, which CDPLC must reimburse with a 10% markup. If CDPLC defaults, MDL becomes the back-to-back credit provider.
The line supports CDPLC's ship orders, but MDL faces contingent liability if CDPLC defaults on customer bank guarantees.
