McLeod Russel India has signed an MoU to sell Tarajulie Tea Estate assets in Assam to Jaynath Tea Estate for Rs 22.75 Crores (excluding taxes). The deal is part of debt restructuring per a sanction letter from NARCL through IDRCL dated April 2, 2026. Tarajulie Tea Estate contributed Rs 15.17 Cr (1.57 percent) to FY25-26 turnover. The buyer is unrelated to promoters. Completion is expected by October 31, 2026, subject to due diligence and shareholder approval under Regulation 37A.
Minor asset sale at 1.57 percent of turnover. Debt repayment may ease liabilities, but signals ongoing financial stress under NARCL-led restructuring.
