Nestle India reported Q1 FY26 results with total sales of INR 5,074 crore, up 5.9% year-on-year, while domestic sales grew 5.5%. Net profit stood at INR 659.2 crore (standalone) with EPS of INR 6.84. EBITDA margin was 21.7% of sales, though raw material costs rose from 42.5% to 45.0% of sales, squeezing margins. Three of four product categories returned to volume-led growth, with Confectionery, Powdered Beverages, and Prepared Dishes performing strongly. The company also announced that Mr. Suresh Narayanan will retire as Chairman and Managing Director on July 31, 2025, and Mr. Manish Tiwary (DIN: 02572830) will take over as the new Chairman and Managing Director effective August 1, 2025. A final dividend of INR 10 per share for FY25 is being paid from July 24, 2025.
The leadership transition from Mr. Narayanan (a long-serving CMD) to Mr. Tiwary is a major event for shareholders and may be watched closely by the market. The Q1 numbers show modest topline growth but rising input costs have pressured margins. Investors should monitor how smoothly the transition happens and whether new leadership can sustain growth amid commodity headwinds.
