NHPC has declared the Commercial Operation Date (COD) for the 4th phase of part capacity of 53.57 MW at its 300 MW Karnisar Solar Power Project in Bikaner, Rajasthan, effective 30.06.2025, after a successful trial run on 29.06.2025. With this addition, the cumulative commercial operation capacity of the project has reached 214.28 MW out of the total 300 MW. The COD for the remaining balance capacity (~85.72 MW) will be communicated later. This is a self-developed renewable energy project by NHPC, a government hydropower major diversifying into solar.
Positive operational milestone — an additional 53.57 MW of solar capacity is now commercially operational, which will start contributing to NHPC's revenue and renewable energy portfolio. Further positive trigger expected once the remaining ~85.72 MW is commissioned.
