NHPC Limited has declared the Commercial Operation Date (CoD) of Unit# 4 (250 MW) of the Subansiri Lower Hydroelectric Project, effective 08.05.2026. With this, four out of eight generating units (1,000 MW total) are now operational. The project, located in Assam/Arunachal Pradesh, has an installed capacity of 2,000 MW (8x250 MW). The company indicated that CoD for the remaining units will be communicated in due course. This follows multiple prior updates going back to October 2023, suggesting a staged commissioning process for this large greenfield hydro project.
