NLC India appoints Dr Prasanna Kumar Acharya as new CMD

NLC India has appointed Dr Prasanna Kumar Acharya as the new Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) for five years effective September 17, 2026, with approval from the President of India through the Ministry of Coal. He was previously Director (Finance) and CFO at the company. He takes over from Mr Sanoj Kumar Jha, who was holding additional charge as CMD and has now handed over responsibilities. Dr Acharya brings nearly three decades of experience across power, mining, and infrastructure sectors including roles at GRIDCO, NTPC, and Tata Power.
