NLC India has signed a Joint Venture Agreement with NALCO to form a 50:50 Joint Venture Company for developing a 4x270 MW (1,080 MW) coal-based thermal captive power plant at Angul, Odisha. The plant will supply power to NALCO's 0.5 MTPA Aluminium Smelter Expansion Project under a 25-year Power Purchase Agreement for 100 percent offtake. NLCIL will also supply coal from its Machhakata mine under a 25-year Fuel Supply Agreement. Both parties are central government PSUs and will have equal board nomination.
Strengthens NLC India's project pipeline with a long-term 1,080 MW captive power order and secured coal off-take from its own mines, boosting revenue visibility.
