NTPC's subsidiary NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL) has declared Commercial Operation Date (COD) for the third part capacity of 49.125 MW out of the 300 MW Khavda Solar Energy Project in Gujarat, effective from 00:00 hrs on 22.08.2025. This project is part of the 450 MW Hybrid Tranche V Project being developed by NTPC Renewable Energy Limited, a step-down subsidiary. The first part (142.2 MW) and second part (32.8 MW) of this 300 MW project were already commissioned in June 2025, taking the total commissioned capacity in this project to 224.125 MW. With this addition, the total installed and commercial capacity of the NTPC group has reached 83,291 MW.
Positive incremental development for NTPC as it adds to its renewable energy portfolio and overall installed capacity. The phased commissioning is progressing on schedule, supporting the company's green energy expansion, though the remaining ~76 MW of the 300 MW Khavda project is still to be commissioned.
