NTPC's subsidiary NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL) reported two key developments. First, NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NTPC REL), a wholly owned subsidiary of NGEL, won an e-reverse auction conducted by government body SECI for the full capacity of 70,000 metric tonnes per annum of Green Ammonia at Rs. 51.80 per kg, to be supplied to Krishana Phoschem Limited in Meghnagar, Madhya Pradesh. Second, a 75 MW tranche (Lot-5, cumulative 300 MW out of 500 MW) of the IRCON Renewable Power Limited project was declared on commercial operation from August 6, 2025. With this addition, the NTPC group's total installed and commercial capacity has risen to 82,977 MW.
Positive for NTPC and its green energy arm — adds a new green ammonia revenue stream from a government-conducted auction and increases the group's operational renewable capacity, supporting long-term clean energy growth plans.
