NTPC has declared the Commercial Operation Date (COD) for Unit #1 (800 MW) of the Patratu Super Thermal Power Project (STPP), Phase-I, effective from 00:00 hrs on 05.11.2025. The project is being executed by Patratu Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited (PVUNL), a subsidiary of NTPC. With this commissioning, the NTPC group's total installed and commercial capacity rises to 84,849 MW. Patratu STPP Phase-I has a total planned capacity of 3x800 MW (2,400 MW), meaning two more units of 800 MW each are yet to be commissioned.
The addition of 800 MW of operational capacity strengthens NTPC's revenue-generating base and supports its earnings growth. Investors can expect incremental power generation revenue from this unit, with further upside as the remaining two 800 MW units of Phase-I are commissioned in due course.
