On the reaction day the stock moved 1.1 pts more than Nifty 100 and 1.0 pts more than its Power Generation peers, over the same two closes: a difference in percentage points, not a measure of what the filing did.

NTPC signed two MoUs with Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation (GMDC) on Feb 26, 2026 to explore strategic collaboration on coal and lignite. First MoU covers using GMDC's coal from its coal blocks for power generation at NTPC's existing and upcoming stations. Second MoU targets coal and lignite gasification, pilot projects, and syngas commercialisation. The partnership aims to boost India's energy security and promote clean coal technologies.
Strengthens NTPC's fuel security and adds coal gasification as a new business area. MoUs are exploratory, so no immediate financial impact.
