On the reaction day the stock moved 0.5 pts more than Nifty 100 and 1.0 pts more than its Power Generation peers, over the same two closes: a difference in percentage points, not a measure of what the filing did.
Minute windows have no benchmark: there is no intraday index history to compare against.
NTPC has transferred its Dulanga Coal Mine in Odisha and Talaipalli Coal Mine in Chhattisgarh to its wholly owned subsidiary NTPC Mining Limited (NML) effective 1 February 2026. This continues the phased transfer of NTPC's coal mining business to NML, first disclosed on 31 January 2026. The effective date was shifted by one day from the original 31 January 2026. NML is already 100 percent owned by NTPC.
Internal restructuring to a wholly owned subsidiary; no immediate change for shareholders but coal mining is now housed under a focused subsidiary.
